Surprise! The new Daft Punk Album, Random Access Memories, has leaked online one week before the official release. And if you’d rather get your music by legal means, you can stream the entire thing right here on iTunes.
RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES. This is amazing. Daft Punk has been working on this album since 2008, and from listening to the live stream on Itunes, it has more than paid off. “We were drawing a parallel between the brain and the hard drive- the random way that memories are stored,” Thomas Bangalter told Rolling Stone about RAM. “Electronic music right now is in its comfort zone and it’s not moving one inch.”
The leak has been taken down wetransfer.com, but iTunes is streaming the entire thing, and it’s amazing. Watch out for the actual release on May 21. My favorites are Instant Crush, Giorgio by Moroder, Get Lucky, Touch, Doin it Right, and Contact.
And according to our lovely Doox, Daft Punk didn’t play anything electronic this time and everything was recorded live with no samples. They also recorded some bass parts using 6 mics from the 70s.
My only concern- where my ladies at? Daft punk is missin out on some beautiful voices.
