RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES. This is amazing. Daft Punk has been working on this album since 2008, and from listening to the live stream on Itunes, it has more than paid off. “We were drawing a parallel between the brain and the hard drive- the random way that memories are stored,” Thomas Bangalter told Rolling Stone about RAM. “Electronic music right now is in its comfort zone and it’s not moving one inch.”

The leak has been taken down wetransfer.com, but iTunes is streaming the entire thing, and it’s amazing. Watch out for the actual release on May 21. My favorites are Instant Crush, Giorgio by Moroder, Get Lucky, Touch, Doin it Right, and Contact.

And according to our lovely Doox, Daft Punk didn’t play anything electronic this time and everything was recorded live with no samples. They also recorded some bass parts using 6 mics from the 70s.

My only concern- where my ladies at? Daft punk is missin out on some beautiful voices.

Vampire Weekend was on SNL this past weekend with Kristen Wiig and it was magic.  Take a break from studying and watch the entire episode on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/watch/489171.

So this is the coolest cover of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”…ever. For those of you that don’t know, Chris Hadfield is a Canadian astronaut who has been living on the International Space Station for the past five months. In that time, he has made extensive use of social media platforms like Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, etc. answering questions and the like. On his final day in the ISS he released this video, singing and strumming the guitar all by himself.

tl;dr A dude floating in space covered a David Bowie song, which is cooler than anything we’ll ever do.

Noah Beresen, better known as producer Xaphoon Jones, announced on his Facebook page today that he would no longer be a member of rap duo Chiddy Bang. At first I was sad, but then I realized it meant he’d be cranking out more jams like this mashup. If this doesn’t feel like summer in a song, I don’t know what does.

Also pretty sure I shit my pants when Baauer played this on Wednesday. This song is amazing and I will be listening to this song all summer.
